Creator Mark Ehrenkranz has lifelong experience at being a writer, producer, teacher and mentor. After approximately 40 years in the entertainment business, he put his career on hold to return to school and become a Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) to advocate for and mentor individuals and their families who are affected by alcohol or substance issues.

Substance or alcohol use disorders involve compulsive use despite harm to self and others, and peer recovery offers a powerful alternative through Certified Peer Recovery Specialists—people with lived experience who build trust, guide treatment, provide resources like MAT and Narcan training, meet individuals where they are, and selflessly support lasting change and reduced relapse risk.

Having produced the NY Film Critics Series for over 25 years, Mark has developed great skills to publicly speak and educate audiences nationwide. He is now a CPRS and works at a major New Jersey Hospital running groups and going beside to help patients and families.

His speaking program is catered toward any organization or group who wants to hear from a person in recovery who now professionally helps others with similar maladies. The content includes demystifying what addiction is, medically assisted treatment (MAT), harm reduction programs, moderation management, and residential and outpatient treatment. He also talks about free availability to peer recovery programs for in-person and regular telephone support. Educating the public about the many pathways of recovery, not just AA, NA or conventional community support.
